After graduation I worked
at secretarial duties in Des Moines for about two years. In May, 1954,
I married Dick Peterson. In October, 1954, we moved to Albuquerque,
New Mexico. We had two daughters: Karla, born 1961, and Jill, born
1963. In 1968, Dick and I divorced. Later I married Ray Bell of Roswell,
New Mexico. In these past 34 years we have added to our family six
grandchildren (4 boys and 2 girls), now ranging in age from 16 to
7 years old.
My husband continues to operate the gas and propane business he has
started over a 50-year period. My years have been filled with the
joys of family, friends, and a growing relationship with my Lord,
Jesus.
I have tutored English as a second language and volunteered in ministries
with all ages from kindergarteners to adults. We have had some wonderful
travels abroad and as of this writing, have been blessed with good
health. Life has been good and we are ever so grateful. |

and on weekends. My social life with church youth fellowship. |

Following high school, I graduated from Drake University and Lexington
Seminary, Lexington, KY. My ministry was a rewarding experience. In
1997, I served as a team member which took medical supplied to Cuba
on behalf of The National Council of Churches. In retirement, we have
traveled to Mexico, Central America, Southeast Asia, and Alaska. For
the last 18 years, we have lived in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of
Texas ten miles from Mexico. We live in John Knox Village (CCRC) Community
with a life care contract. |

I met my wife Shirley at Drake University, and we have been married
56 years. We have three children, five grandchildren, and two great
grandchildren. |

year in June, I was drafted into the Service. I've had basic training,
then later I went to Officer Candidate School-First Lieutenant. Spent
most of my Service time in Korea, then discharged from Service. I
am retired from City of DM Fiancial Group. Then I went to Art School
in Kansas City, becoming an artist. All of my work is in historical
buildings torn down or still standing. My life is that of widower

73, passed away May 6, 2008 in Des Moines after a lengthy illness.
Suzanne was born on February 2, 1935. She was a lifetime resident
of Highland Park except for the last year when her home was at Regency
Assisted Living. After graduating from North High School, Suzanne
had a career in banking. Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents,
Leonard and Gladys Richardson; brother, Frank; and sister, Irene.
She is survived by a brother, Maurice L. Richardson of Northridge,
California. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 3,
2008 at Masonic Cemetery, 1550 48th Street, Des Moines, IA. |

| After graduation, worked
ten years at Herman M. Brown, Construction Equipment Co. Then went
to work for Montgomery Elevator, installing elevators and escalators.
I worked there for 34 years, the last 20 years as a foreman and adjuster.
I retired in June 1996, which I have enjoyed very much. I taught school
for the Elevator Contractor Apprentice Program for 27 years before
I retired. I had four boys with my first wife. They are 47, 44, 40,
and 36. Jan and I have been married 17 years. She has two daughters
and one son. We have eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
My hobbies are playing tennis, some golf, woodworking, going to grandkids'
activities, and working around the house and yard. We travel usually
in the fall and spend part of winter in Phoenix. |

Junior high school teacher. Retired many, many years ago. My first
class at Edison Junior High School is having its 50th class reunion,
and I have been invited. The students are now 69 years old. Don't

After graduation, went to the University of Minnesota and graduated
with a degree in Education. I moved to Milwaukee and started teaching
7th grade. I married Robert Stone who grew up in Milwaukee. We had
our first child in 1961, and I retired from teaching to raise our
family. We had three children. Today, we are still living in the home
in which we raised our children. Bob is retired, and we have six grandchildren.
We are very fortunate to spend a great deal of time with our family,
and we enjoy every minute of it. |
