Eleanor Ruth Tannus Taheny

Eleanor earned a Masters Degree from the University of Illinois in Curriculum and Instruction in 1979. Eleanor was an elementary teacher for 31 years. She has been involved in literacy and was named Literacy Educator of the Year, 2002. She has also served as a reading and literacy consultant.
Eleanor has been involved in a Parent Literacy Program for Hispanic parents and children. She is also the chairperson for her church's World Hunger and Disaster Relief. Eleanor is a co-author of "Peer Teaching: A Successful Staff Development Model" and "Cooperative Learning Activities for the Home." Eleanor also is the author of "Reading: Birth to Five" which is published in English and Spanish.
