Sidney Maxweld Kirby
Class of January, 1936
Max Kirby graduated from North High School in January, 1936. His past occupations include Senior Systems Analyst for IBM and Production Control Foreman for Douglas Aircraft. Mr. Kirby established and headed up the logistic support and service for the Apollo-Saturn Instrument Unit Program. He developed, maintained, and published the "Serialization Control and Reporting System" (SCARS). This was used by IBM and NASA in the Apollo-Saturn Space Program and is still used today. He developed for IBM a "User Reference Guide" which standardized computer transactor codes. He additionally developed for IBM five user manuals clarifying policies, procedures, and methods for establishing comptuer expertise.
